James Bond Movie Cars

If you're an automotive fan that also happens to like the James Bond films, then you're in for a treat.
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the 007 franchise, the National Motor Museum in cooperation with Beaulieu and EON Productions (the latter co-owns, with MGM, the copyright to the James Bond films), will hold the largest exhibition of James Bond vehicles ever displayed to the public.
The exhibition will run at the National Motor Museum, which is located in Brockenhurst, UK, from January to December 2012.
There will be 50 vehicles on display including the 2008 Aston Martin DBS from Quantum of Solace, the 2002 Jaguar XKR with SFX weapons from Die Another Day, the 1964 Aston Martin DB5 from Goldeneye and the 1937 Phantom lll Rolls-Royce from Goldfinger.
Beaulieu’s Commercial Director, Stephen Munn commented: “Following the success of the first Bond cars exhibition staged at Beaulieu in 2001, we are delighted to be working with EON again on this new display, bringing together the world’s largest collection of Bond vehicles.”

A Tribute to Enzo Ferrari

August 14 marked the 23rd anniversary of the death of Enzo Ferrari. The man who founded Ferrari was, according to some, a difficult man to deal with, as ingenious people usually tend to be. But no one ever questioned his passion about racing and his dedication to the company he founded in 1947. His life was long and complicated –so we'll just write a few words for the man who founded the company that built some of the finest supercars the world has ever seen.

Born in 1898, Enzo Ferrari initially worked for CMN (Construzioni Meccaniche Nazionali) redesigning truck bodies into passenger cars. He entered racing with CMN in 1919, but with no success. He left in 1920 to work at Alfa Romeo, eventually establishing its racing division, which he named Scuderia Ferrari, signing famous drivers such as Tazio Nuvolari.
However, Alfa Romeo withdrew from races in 1933 due to economic problems, only to return in 1937 and reduce Enzo’s role in the racing department. His departure was inevitable, but since a clause in his contract didn’t allow him to race for four years, he found a loophole by founding Auto-Avio Costruzioni and supplying parts to other teams.
After World War II, he relocated his company from Modena to Maranello, where it remains to this day, and in 1947 founded Ferrari S.p.A. He manufactured road cars, starting with the V12 125S, but only to gain funds to race again. This happened one year later and in 1950, he entered the first ever Formula 1 world championship, in which the Scuderia still competes. But his activities weren’t restricted in F1, as Ferrari also raced in Le Mans and the Mille Miglia with remarkable success.
Enzo Ferrari became known as “il Commendatore” and hired some of the best drivers of all time who he famously encouraged to fiercely compete against each other – often with dire consequences.
Financial problems forced him in the 1960s to sell a part of his company. Ford nearly closed the deal, but Enzo withdrew and eventually sold some shares to Fiat, which bought 50% of his company in 1969.
The iconic F40’s development was the last Ferrari model Enzo oversaw. In August 14, 1988, he passed away. That year, McLaren Honda’s MP4/4s won all F1 races bar one. It was the Italian Grand Prix held at Monza on September 11, where Gerhard Berger and Michele Alboreto crossed the finish line in their F1/87/88Cs in first and second place respectively. Fittingly, it was the first race held after il Commendatore’s death.
In 2002 Ferrari launched its top supercar which it named Enzo to honor the company’s founder and next year a movie was made about his life.

The Dark Knight and Catwoman Show Their New Rides

Work on Christopher Nolan's next Batman film called "The Dark Knight Rises" is well underway with the movie crew currently filming in Pittsburgh.
To our delight, we now have some fresh footage of Batman's new toys that include the never before seen Batwing hovering or rather being carried around by a large truck, as well as his trusted Tumbler.
The Batwing is pretty impressive in these amateur videos and it will probably look even better after the special effects are added in.
Finally, we also get to see some scenes with the sensual Catwoman played by Anne Hathaway on her new blacked-out motorcycle. Enjoy the videos below.

Bruce Willis Enters Negotiations to Play Original Joe in 'G.I. Joe' Sequel

G.I. Joe / Bruce Willis
Back when "Friday Night Lights" star Adrianne Palicki bagged the role of Lady Jaye in next summer's sequel G.I. Joe: Retaliation, it was mentioned that Bruce Willis was one of several names in the running to play the original G.I. Joe, General Joseph B. Colton, but it was far from a done deal. Now Heat Vision reports Willis has officially entered negotiations to take the role of the character who, in the 1980's comics, is responsible for starting the G.I. Joe strike team, called the ultimate freedom force, and was given the now infamous handle of G.I. Joe. You'd think this would've been included in the first film, but apparently not.
Willis now seems to be the biggest name in the film edging out The Rock and Channing Tatum who were previously the most recognizable talents on the project. I have to admit, this perfect bit of casting almost has me excited about a G.I. Joe sequel, but I still have a terrible taste in my mouth after the first film. Perhaps a fresh director, Jon M. Chu, and a script from Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick make this a superior sequel. G.I. Joe: Retaliation begins shooting in New Orleans next month and Paramount will send the film to theaters on June 29th, 2012. As always, we'll continue to keep you updated.

Get Smurfed in the Face Again with 'Smurfs 2' in 2013

The Smurfs
If you just didn't get enough of the little blue woodland creatures this summer, then Sony Pictures has good news as the studio has announced a sequel to their big screen adaptation of The Smurfs which is now slated to hit theaters on August 2nd, 2013. It's the first film to be schedule in that month for the 2013 year in cinema, and since it's so early on, there are absolutely no story, cast, writing or directing details to be announced at this time. Honestly, it's not as if any of those details are important right now since the studio is probably just glad to have another property spawning a lucrative franchise at the box office.
Apparently the adaptation of the popular cartoon from decades past has exceeded all of the studios expectations within the first few days of the release. Not only has the film raked in over $78 million in the United States, but this past weekend, the film opened up at #1 in 23 overseas markets and has a current worldwide box office count of $135 million. Honestly, I could care less about this sequel, but obviously there's a decent amount of people who were interested in the first film to garner another adventure with The Smurfs. For my money, this is just a big load of Smurf, but for others it could be a fun family flick.

World War Z Adaptation for Release December 2012

World War Z
Briefly: It's coming. World War Z. The long-awaited adaptation of the zombie cult classic is shooting, and will be in theaters late next year. Paramount announced a December 21, 2012 holiday release for World War Z, director Marc Forster's adaptation of Max Brooks' novel about a global zombie takeover. This stars Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos, James Badge Dale and Bryan Cranston; Pitt is also producing with Plan B partner Dede Gardner, financed by Skydance Productions. This puts the zombie epic up against Disney's The Lone Ranger and Ang Lee's Life of Pi that very weekend, plus Tarantino's Django Unchained on Christmas Day.
The screenplay is by Matthew Michael Carnahan (The Kingdom, State of Play) and J. Michael Straczynski ("Babylon 5", Changeling, Ninja Assassin). As a final bit of hype, take another look at some of the kick ass concept art for World War Z, originally released way back in 2009. This is going to be awesome, can't wait!

Milla Jovovich & Paul W.S. Anderson Back for Another 'Resident Evil'

Paul W.S. Anderson and Milla Jovovich
Back in September, almost immediately after the release of Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D, franchise star Milla Jovovich seemed confident that she and her husband and the film's director Paul W.S. Anderson would be back for a fifth sequel in the franchise. Since then we haven't heard any official development, but now Bloody-Disgusting is reporting that Jovovich and Anderson will be returning for the sequel title Resident Evil: Retribution. Anderson will be directing the film from his own screenplay this time around too, and while story details are being kept under wraps, we do have word on some characters involved. Read on!
As far as the story goes, it will apparently take Alice (Milla Jovovich) from Toronto, Canada to Tokyo, Japan. In addition Jill Valentine will be returning to the franchise, and despite a tweet from actress Sienna Guillory confirming her return, Bloody Disgusting apparently says the role will be recast. Joining the two ladies will be Barry Burton, a member of S.T.A.R.S. (Special Tactics And Rescue Service) and Leon Scott Kennedy, a U.S. Government agent, and previously an officer for the Raccoon City Police Department.
Interestingly enough, when Jovovich talked about the sequel last September, she said: "We've been talking to a lot of fans on Twitter and stuff, so it's probably going to be one of the first movies where we really talk to fans to see what they want, and what characters they want to see. It's going to be a more interactive process." It's not clear if that process will result in anything substantial on screen, but suggestions from fans can't be any worse than what Anderson has already delivered in the franchise. Here's hoping the film at least stays away from 3D this time around, which was used in such silly ways in the last installment. Otherwise, I'm not really looking forward to the fourth film, but it will be hitting theaters on September 14th, 2012.

Keanu Reeves Lands Financing for Directorial Debut 'Man of Tai Chi'

Keanu Reeves
I'm sure this is going to rile up a few people. The Wrap is reporting that financing is coming together on a project called Man of Tai Chi, a Mandarin-and-English-language movie that Keanu Reeves will star in and direct as his feature directorial debut. Reeves is currently filming Carl Rinsch's samurai film 47 Ronin, but is working on this project as well, a martial arts film that includes "some serious fighting scenes" and will feature Reeves as the villain. Man of Tai Chi will also star Tiger Chen, a member of the kung fu team from Matrix and stuntman on Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Village Roadshow Pictures is developing.
The big news is that Reeves is in negotiations with China Film Group and Village Roadshow Pictures to get funding for Man of Tai Chi. While we haven't mentioned it before, this project has been around a while, and Reeves revealed some major details to MTV earlier this year. "There's 18 fights. We've timed it out. It's about 40 minutes of fighting," he said. Damn! "I want to make a good, solid kung fu movie. Good story, good plot — but let's get some good kung fu going!" Glad to see him in the fighting spirit again. Reeves said back then they want to "do it as kind of a co-production with CFG" and it turns out that deal may have come through. To be honest, this sounds pretty damn cool, even with Reeves, and I'd actually like to see it made.

Two TV Spots for Soderbergh's Ensemble Virus Film 'Contagion'

Steven Soderbergh's Contagion
"Have you found any treatment at all?" Warner Bros started showing these two new TV spots for Steven Soderbergh's upcoming thriller Contagion and they've been uploaded to YouTube as well. Contagion is the virus thriller starring quite a stellar ensemble cast, including Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburne, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, Marion Cotillard, Jennifer Ehle and more. I'm looking forward to this, it just looks intense and epic like a true global virus thriller that addresses not only the spread of the virus, but the panic that comes with it. We've already seen the first trailer, so why not some new TV spots to go with it.

The Odd Life of Timothy Green' Trailer with Garner & Edgerton

The Odd Life of Timothy Green Trailer
"Where did he come from?" Just after Disney announced a 2012 release date for the film The Odd Life of Timothy Green, the first trailer has popped up online over at Trailer Addict. Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton star in the family fantasy drama, along with CJ Adams as Timothy Green, a kid that comes from a box buried in their backyard. I'm not exactly sure what they're going for with this trailer, but it seems to have quite an epic feel to it (just watch, you'll see what I mean), like they're trying to play up that this kid is an alien or something. It looks interesting, but I'm not sold yet. Check out the Timothy Green trailer below.
Watch the first trailer for Peter Hedges' The Odd Life of Timothy Green, officially via Yahoo:
You can also download The Odd Life of Timothy Green trailer in High Definition on Yahoo
An inspiring, magical story about a happily married couple who bury a box in their backyard, containing all of their wishes for an infant. Soon, their child is born, though Timothy Green is not all that he appears.
The Odd Life of Timothy Green is both written and directed by Oscar nominated America filmmaker Peter Hedges, of Pieces of April and Dan in Real Life previously, as well as screenwriting work on What's Eating Gilbert Grape and About a Boy. The story is credited to musician Ahmet Zappa. Disney just scheduled The Odd Life of Timothy Green for release on August 15th, 2012 next summer. Look like it will be any good?

New Poster + Crazy Trailer for James Bickert's 'Dear God No!'

When the blood begins to flow, who will be left to scream. Ohh boy, this looks frickin' crazy! I'm not sure where this came from, but Bloody-Disgusting has posted the trailer and poster, designed by Tom Hodge (he also did the Hobo With a Shotgun posters), for James Bickert's Dear God No!, a biker gang exploitation flick about The Impalers who go on a murder spree then pull a home invasion on a disgraced Anthropologist "with a secret." Somehow there's a monster, plenty of crazy killing, lots of women, I don't even know but it looks insane. Most of this is uncensored and NSFW, so be cautious with all the Dear God No! content below.
Here's the official Dear God No! poster, thanks to Bloody-Disgusting, but it's uncensored so watch out!
James Bickert's Dear God No! Poster
And now the very insane, also very uncensored, red band trailer for James Bickert's Dear God No!:
Here's the short synopsis from IMDb: A gang of outlaw bikers pull a home invasion on a disgraced Anthropologist hiding a secret locked in his cabin basement. Dear God No! is both written and directed by graphic artist/filmmaker James Bickert (read an interview here), of various Troma films of past including Dumpster Baby, Better Off Bound, Assimilate and Mondo Bondo. This is currently screening very sparsely around the US, but we're not sure when to expect it otherwise. For more info, visit the official website. That's a great poster, no doubt, but is this anything more than a Troma film? I'm curious to see. Thoughts?

Paul W.S. Anderson's 'The Three Musketeers'

All for One and One for All! Yes, while I think this movie still does look pretty awful, at least their posters look great! Thanks to IMPAwards, we've got a new look at a UK quad poster for Paul W.S. Anderson's The Three Musketeers, his new 3D adventure that brings in floating airships and lots of other unnecessary madness - watch the latest trailer here. Seen on the poster are our four Musketeers: Matthew Macfadyen (Athos), Ray Stevenson (Porthos), Luke Evans (Aramis) and Logan Lerman (D'Artagnan). However, no Orlando Bloom, Milla Jovovich or floating ships anywhere to be seen, maybe for the better. Check it out!
The Three Musketeers UK Quad
The Three Musketeers, which was actually shot entirely in 3D, is being directed by Paul W.S. Anderson (of Resident Evil, Death Race, Event Horizon) with a script adapted from Alexandre Dumas' novel by Andrew Davies and Alex Litvak (Predators). Summit Entertainment has this set for release on October 21st, later this year. In addition to the four Musketeers above, The Three Musketeers also stars Orlando Bloom as the Duke of Buckingham, Christoph Waltz as Cardinal Richelieu, Mads Mikkelsen as Rochefort, Til Schweiger as Cagliostro, Juno Temple as Queen Anne and Milla Jovovich as M'lady De Winter. Anyone going to see this?

Robert Rodriguez's 'Sin City 2' Financing Set, Waiting for Final Script

Sin City 2
We've known for a little while now that Robert Rodriguez's Sin City 2 would finally be his follow-up once Spy Kids 4 was completely finished. Even during his big panel at Comic-Con, Robert Rodriguez quickly confirmed that things were moving along and the long overdue sequel was likely to start shooting sometime this year. However, news is now going around, with multiple confirmations and quotes from We Got This Covered (via /Film) and The Playlist, that Sin City 2 is definitely going to happen, financing is even in place, and they're just waiting for a finalize script before they can start shooting. Wait - is the cast set already, too?
We're not too sure what exactly the plans are for the cast, but if this is anything like the version in the works a few years ago, it's most of the same. The first quote comes from We Got This Covered and is just a quick production update from Rodriguez confirming their current situation on both Sin City 2 and Machete 2:
"Sin City 2 is going good, we're just finishing the script for that, we already got the money. We have everything we need so we can just start shooting as soon as we get the pages. And it's the same thing for Machete 2. We've already got the budget, just waiting for the script. As soon as we're finished writing we get to start the shoot."
Sounds good on both accounts. I'm glad to hear Sin City is working its way along, finally hopefully shooting this year, but of course I won't believe it until I see it. The other update is from The Playlist, who also got quotes from Rodriguez, this time focusing on his new production company Quick Draw and how they work on their projects. This one is a bit more revealing: "Our company is the other way around. We've got the financing, we're just waiting for the script. So the focus is where it should be. You're not worrying about the money, you're just making sure the script's where it should be. So whichever one has the script ready to go first. Sin City has so many effects, conceivably you could shoot Machete 2 after and it could still come out before Sin City 2. So how the distribution goes, I'm not sure, but they might just end up shooting around the same time." If all goes as planned, it sounds like that may be what they'll do sometime later this year.
Given that Sin City 2 has been promising to shoot for years, I'm still waiting to actually see it happen first. That said, it sounds like this new Quick Draw Productions is exactly what Rodriguez needed to launch to get his next few movies in line, and it sounds like that includes Frank Miller's Sin City 2, another Machete, and the newly teased adaptation of Frank Frazetta's Fire and Ice, and maybe one day that Nerverackers sci-fi movie. In the meantime, we'll have to wait to see how Quick Draw continues to develop and if Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D, featuring Aroma-scope, is a big hit for Dimension Films or not. Sound good?

Awesome New Poster for 'The Adventures of Tintin'

Snowy! Thanks to our friends at IMPAwards, a high res version of the latest poster for Steven Spielberg & Peter Jackson's The Adventures of Tintin has hit the web. I just love how they're kind of going all out and doing anything they want marketing this. They've got the giant Unicorn ship rolling in front and center, plus even the heads of Thomson & Thomson and Captain Haddock. Just seems like a perfectly fitting poster for an adventure movie like this. We still haven't seen anything online recently besides that international trailer, but this poster can hold us over until the next trailer shows up. I'm already looking forward to this.
The Adventures of Tintin Poster
The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn was originally directed by Steven Spielberg, produced by Peter Jackson with a script co-written by Steven Moffat, Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish. The cast includes Jamie Bell as Tintin, Andy Serkis as Captain Haddock, Simon Pegg & Nick Frost as Thompson & Thompson, Daniel Craig as the villain Red Rackham, and Toby Jones as Silk. The animated movie, in the works at Weta Digital, will hit US theaters in glorious 3D starting on December 23rd, Christmas weekend, late this year. We featured the first look in December and the first teaser trailer in May. We'll keep you updated on Tintin!

Ben Stiller's Red Hour Adapting 'Quantum Hoops' Doc into a Comedy

Quantum Hoops
After his production company made the dark, but delightful coming-of-age comedy Submarine, my respect for Ben Stiller, at least as a producer, went up a couple notches. Now I'm at least interested in yet another venture from Red Hour as Stiller and Stuart Cornfield are working with Disney to develop a comedy based on the 2007 documentary Quantum Hoops. The film follows the 2006 Caltech basketball team which was plagued by 21 seasons and 245 conference games without a single win. In order to stop their losing streak they hired an exiled NCAA coach to make a real effort to get the team just one victory on the court.
Hopefully the movie doesn't just take the easy route and turn the group of geniuses, future political leaders and champions of industry without much athleticism and turn them into caricatured versions of nerds from the 80's. Fortunately, it sounds like much respect will be paid to the sport and the source material as Deadline says this new comedy will have a script coming from Stan Chervin, the original writer who adapted Moneyball before Steve Zaillian and Aaron Sorkin came in to rewrite the script. As of now there's no word on who will direct the feature, but we'll keep you updated as more information becomes available.

'High School Musical' Director Kenny Ortega Ready for 'Dirty Dancing'

Dirty Dancing / Kenny Ortega
With the remake of the 1984 dance driven romance Footloose poised to hit theaters on October 14th, another dance-centric film from the 80's will be getting the remake treatment now as well. Deadline reports the 1987 film Dirty Dancing, the romance that has been so engrained in everyone's cinematic memory thanks to a recognizable soundtrack, the late Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, will be remade by High School Musical and This Is It documentary director Kenny Ortega. What makes this interesting is that Ortega is responsible for choreographing the so-called dirty dancing from the original film.
Honestly, there are few people I would trust with a remake like this, and Ortega really does seem like one of them. His expertise with dancing, musical numbers and gearing content towards the younger generation makes him a prime candidate to craft a respectable and fun update of the original film, but I can't say that I'm too thrilled with another call back to the 80's for inspiration in this decade. For those who are unfamiliar, the original story follows a pampered young girl who summers with her upscale family at an establishment in the Catskills and falls in love with the resident dance instructor who her family does not approve of in the least.
The infamous "Nobody puts Baby in a corner" line comes directly from the film, and surely it will have to be worked into the remake somehow, but a part of me wishes this remake would be left in a corner. Of course, depending on how the story is updated, this could turn out all right. However, Lionsgate is behind this remake, so they need to make sure this turns out better than their weaksauce Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, sequel that was just a complete disaster all around.

Anne Hathaway as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises

Well hello there, Ms. Selina Kyle! Remember this day, as it's not only the day that Rise of the Planet of the Apes finally lands in theaters, but it's the day we're first introduced to Christopher Nolan's Catwoman from/in The Dark Knight Rises. Thanks to an early tip from SlashFilm, the first official photo of Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, and not a crappy set photo, an official studio photo, is now available for our viewing pleasure via the official website. She's most likely still only Selina in this photo, and she's riding a familiar vehicle, but it's still very exciting to get our first look at one of the most anticipated characters yet.

Anne Hathaway as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises
The Dark Knight Rises
The Dark Knight Rises finishes the Batman saga begun by Christopher Nolan in 2005 with Batman Begins.
The Dark Knight Rises is once again directed by Oscar nominated British filmmaker Christopher Nolan, of Following, Memento, Insomnia, Batman Begins, The Prestige, The Dark Knight and Inception previously. The script was co-written by Christopher & Jonathan Nolan (The Prestige, The Dark Knight), from a story by Chris Nolan & David S. Goyer (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight). Warner Bros is bringing The Dark Knight Rises to regular and IMAX theaters everywhere July 20th, 2012 next summer. In Nolan We Trust!

Henry Cavill as Superman in Zack Snyder's 'Man of Steel'!

With Laurence Fishburne topping off the cast as Perry White in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, production can get underway. To kick things off, Warner Bros has unveiled the first official photo of Henry Cavill as Superman in action. They've only barely started shooting the movie, on day four so far, so this must just be from an action set piece or something to show us what the new Big Blue Boy Scout looks like. It's even an action shot with a messed up bank vault in the background and some sparks, too. But of course, we also get a good look at the new suit. It's an exciting photo and only the first of many to come over the next two years.
Henry Cavill as Superman
In Zack Snyder's Superman, Henry Cavill plays the new Clark Kent, who goes toe-to-toe with General Zod, played by Michael Shannon. The main cast also includes Amy Adams as Lois Lane, and Diane Lane & Kevin Costner as Martha & Jonathan Kent and even Russell Crowe as Jor-El. Charles Roven, Emma Thomas, Chris Nolan and Deborah Snyder are producing. The screenplay is being written by David S. Goyer based on a story by Goyer and Nolan. Man of Steel is now scheduled for release on June 14th, 2013, two summers away. We've got a long wait, but as our first glimpse at Man of Steel, this is kicking ass already. Thoughts?

'The Amazing Spider-Man' Sequel for 2014

The Amazing Spider-Man
Already?! Deadline reports that Sony/Columbia Pictures has set a date for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, a sequel to Marc Webb's new take on the web-head, starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker. They're claiming the key May 2nd, 2014 release spot, aiming to kick off the 2014 summer with Spidey, which is 2 years, 9 months away. It's very early to be scheduling for 2014, but a Sony exec explains: "I think it speaks volumes about our confidence in what we are seeing on the new film and our desire to move quickly on the next installment." That may be true, but we're still a year away from seeing the first Amazing Spider-Man!
The Amazing Spider-Man, a fresh new take on the comic book hero created by Stan Lee & Steve Ditko, stars Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, our hero Spider-Man, as well as Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben and Sally Field as Aunt May. 500 Days of Summer director Marc Webb is directing this new reboot of Spider-Man, from a screenplay written by Alvin Sargent (Sam Raimi's Spider-Man), Steve Kloves (Harry Potter franchise) and James Vanderbilt (The Rundown, Zodiac, The Losers). Sony is bringing this new Amazing Spider-Man movie to theaters in 3D on July 3rd, 2012. Watch the first teaser trailer here.
Also, while it wasn't mentioned by Deadline, it was revealed last year that Marc Webb would be directing "the next three movies" in this new Spider-Man franchise, so the early assumption is that he'll also be back.
