Ralph Gilles has been named President and CEO of the new Street Racing Technology (SRT) brand, Chrysler Group LLC announced yesterday. Gilles has so far been President and CEO of the Dodge Car Brand and Senior Vice President of Design at Chrysler.
The formation of the SRT brand is significant in that while SRT has been part of Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep cars, it’s never been a standalone division like BMW’s M or Mercedes-Benz’s AMG Divisions.
Gilles will remain design director for all Chrysler brands, including Chrysler itself, Dodge, Jeep and Ram. Replacing Gilles as President and CEO of the Dodge Car Brand is Reid Bigland.
