Peugeot is pushing ahead with its C/D segment car, the all-new 508 sedan, at the 2011 Geneva International Motor Show. Competing with the likes of Volkswagen Jetta, Honda Accord and Mazda6, the 508 replaces the 407 range and appears all grown up, spacious and quite refined.
It measures about 4.79 metres long and features the very latest-generation engines, from petrol to diesel and even a HYbrid4 system. Peugeot will produce the 508 in France for everyone except the Chinese who will produce their own version domestically. A first-year allocation of 200 000 units is expected after it goes on sale in Europe this July. South Africa would get it either end of 2011, with a public debut at JIMS 2011, or right at the beginning of 2012.
